Question

You have air going into a dryer to dry herbs. The temperature of the air must be kept to 45 degrees Celsius. Higher temperatures may damage the delicate flavour of the material.

The air entering the dryer is at 45 degrees Celsius and has a relative humidity of 20%.

The air leaving the dryer has cooled a little bit while picking up moisture from the herbs. It has a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius and a relative humidity of 30%.

How much water is picked up by the air in the dryer? Express your answer to the nearest gram of water per kg of dry air. Do not include any decimal places in your answer and be sure to leave out the units.
