Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words:
This week, we learned about fallacies and biases, which are ways that reasoning can go wrong. As you read through the material, you probably considered questions like the following: What signs can we look for to detect that an argument is weak? What signs can we look for to detect that an argument is strong? And why is it that seemingly strong arguments fail to convince people?
Arguments can make many different mistakes, but there is a difference between an argument having a bias, committing a fallacy, and just not including enough evidence to support the conclusion. Respond to the following questions and provide examples to support your conclusions:
When has an argument you gave to someone provided enough evidence to establish its conclusion?
How much proof is enough proof for a controversial opinion?
Think about a time you succeeded in getting someone to adopt your point of view without giving them all the information about the circumstances. Is that really convincing someone?
