Case Study: An insured NP certified in child and adolescent psychiatry began treating a 16yr old patient for anxiety and depression. This patient had a medical history of significant for fibromyalgia and a history of attempting suicide. After 6months of therapy and medication treatment, the patient overdosed on oxycodone pills belonging to her stepfather. The patient suffered a brain hypoxia and currently resides in a residential health care facility. Ther patient's family is suing the NP for malpractice. The attorney for the family argues that the NP was negligent in managing the patient's depression and anxiety and failed to recognize the patient's risk for suicide.

Questions:
