Assignment:
Before I was a follower of Jesus, my life was a mess. I had been through addiction, the horrors of rape, abuse, and relentless spiritual attacks. I battled with an eating disorder, struggled with depression, and even contemplated suicide. Betrayal was a constant companion. It was a dark and desperate time in my life, and I felt utterly lost. I realized I needed Jesus when I hit rock bottom, when I had nowhere else to turn. I had tried to overcome my struggles on my own, seeking solace in all the wrong places, but nothing worked. I was broken, and I knew I couldn't fix myself. It was in that moment of utter despair that I cried out to Jesus, asking for His help and forgiveness. I had nothing left to lose. When I made the decision to follow Jesus, I simply prayed with all my heart, "Jesus, I need You. I can't this on my own. Please come into my life, forgive my sins, and help me find a way out of this darkness." It was a raw, sincere plea for His intervention.
Since I started following Jesus, my life has been transformed in ways I couldn't have imagined. He saved me from addiction, healed my broken heart, and protected me from harm. I felt His presence and His love in a way that filled the void I'd been trying to fill with all the wrong things. I found a community of believers who supported and encouraged me on my journey of faith. There's a passage of Scripture that means so much to me, and it's found in Psalm.
34:18: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." This verse resonates with me because it was during my darkest moments when I truly felt God's closeness and His saving grace. It reminds me that no matter how broken we are, God is there, ready to heal and rescue us. That's my story. I would love to hear about your faith journey. Sharing my testimony has not only helped me reflect on God's incredible work in my life but also opened the door for conversations with others who have their own stories of redemption and grace. I'm on the path to becoming a pastor now, not to glorify my past, but to share the hope and transformation that Jesus offers to anyone who seeks Him. My testimony in my life I went through addiction, rape, abuse, spiritual attacks, eating disorder, depression, suicidal, and betrayal. God saved me, protected me, and heal me from all of that. God restore me, found me, and chose me. I'm becoming a pastor now.
