The patient is a woman with a history of Addison's disease who normally takes her prescribed doses of dexamethasone (Decadron) and mineralocorticoid (Fludrocortisone) without fail. She is 32 years old and otherwise in good health. She stayed home from work today because she began to experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and fever with diaphoresis. Because of the nausea and vomiting, she did not take her medications. When her husband came home around 1800, he found her unconscious.
