Staffing shortages are plaguing all areas of healthcare. I work in a psychiatric facility and as we bring new staff in people are leaving at an unprecedented rate. Healthcare continues to be a challenging field with the increased demands and challenges. New staff are coming in and deciding after a short period of time, nursing may not be for them. Management seems to have an attitude of "I'm not going to be held hostage by staff." Staff are wanting a balance of work and family and flexible scheduling. It is a significant challenge to find that happy balance. With references and citations, how might interprofessional collaboration help bridge this gap?
