Meet Evidence of Suitability Requirements for Building Materials and Products

This task requires you to meet the evidence of suitability requirements of the building materials and products specified in the project plans.
Steps to take:

1. Access and review the building project plans from Task 1.1.

2. Locate the Evidence of Suitability Requirements Documentation template provided for you in the following pages.
The Evidence of Suitability Requirements Documentation template will be used to document how the materials and products used in the building project plans meet the evidence of suitability requirements set by the National Construction Code.

3. Identify any one product and one material from each building project plan. The products and materials between the building project plans must be different.
Products are ready-made components that only need assembly to be installed. Materials are raw items combined to make other components.

4. Gather one evidence of suitability for each product and material identified. Evidence of suitability include:
i. CodeMark Licence
ii. CodeMark Australia Certificate of Conformity
iii. WaterMark Licence
iv. Certificate of accreditation

v. Certificate issued by a certification body
vi. Report issued by an accredited testing laboratory
vii. Certificate or report from a professional engineer, recognised expert, or other appropriately qualified person as appropriate
viii. A product technical statement
While gathering evidence of suitability of each product and material, you must:
i. Use at least one equipment to access information about the evidence of suitability, and
ii. Use at least one program to extract information about the evidence of suitability

5. Digitise the evidence of suitability of each product and material. Digitising may include scanning and saving as PDF and taking a photo of the evidence.

6. Using the Evidence of Suitability Requirements Documentation template:
i. Identify one product you have chosen from each building
ii. Identify one material you have chosen from each building
iii. Indicate the filename of the evidence of suitability of each product and material.
iv. Identify the equipment used to access information regarding the evidence of suitability of each product and material
v. Identify the program used to access information regarding the evidence of suitability of each product and material

7. Have your supervisor review the following:
a. Your completed Evidence of Suitability Requirements Documentation
b. All the evidence you will be submitting along with the Evidence of Suitability Requirements Documentation
Have your supervisor then complete and sign the Supervisor Declaration at the end of the Evidence of Suitability Requirements Documentation.
