Discussion - How The Marketing Environment Variables Differ Around The World
The purpose of the discussion forum is to provide a platform for students to consider how marketing principles may apply differently based on the norms, attitudes, values, beliefs and social practices of different cultures.
You’ve been exposed to a wide range of considerations, at the micro (company, exiting competitors, suppliers, intermediaries, customers, publics) and macro (competitors, demographics, economics, natural, technological, political) levels, that influence the Marketing Environment. For this discussion assignment, select one micro and one macro environmental factor, and undertake some research (through the library or other citable resources besides the text book) to gain insight on how these two environmental conditions can vary based on differing international regions (or countries) outside of the United States. In a brief statement, share what you’ve learned about how those conditions can be different and how you think this could impact marketing to hospitality, travel or tourism-related audiences that may be coming to the United States from that region or country.
Next, take a position (by choosing one) and providing your justification for which micro environmental factor you believe would be considered the highest priority that must be addressed in marketing for a hospitality, travel or tourism business seeking to attract an international target market.
