For the past eight years, Elizabeth was an employee who worked a 40 hour work week at the hourly rate of $16 per hour. She had felt secure in her job because it was a big corporation (with a payroll or more than $6 million). Elizabeth's employment has recently been terminated.

1. How many weeks' notice should be given to Elizabeth?

2. One week after termination, her employer decided that she does not have to work during the remainder of the notice period and opts for termination pay in lieu of notice- how much termination pay should be paid to Elizabeth?
