For evaluation purposes, Megan needs to determine how many students she has to survey to estimate the proportion satisfied with attendance in her tennis program. There are about 1,250 students in her target population. Since no surveys have been previously done, she has no idea as to what proportion will score the program high. She is comfortable with being able to estimate the proportion within plus or minus 5% with a 95% confidence level. How many tennis club members do you recommend that she survey? Would that number change if after gathering some information she estimates that about 80% are satisfied?
