How many of us have retailer loyalty cards on your key chain? The question is; how loyal are you to the retailers? We are not really at all despite the cards or the individual discounts they provide. When discussing this fact with the new President of Walgreens as they rolled out their new loyalty card to compete with CVS he told me that he understood but was not launching this program to build shopper loyalty. Instead he saw this as a way to build a marketing data base. Why are we as consumers falling for this if we are so concerned about privacy? Do you believe that we must change our own behavior as a first big step to ensure privacy? Discuss briefly
