Statement
Spadenicor manufactures and sells two models of jacuzzis: the Formentera and the Blaumar. The owner and manager of the company need to decide how many of each type of hydromassage it will produce during its next production cycle. To do this He, buy prefabricated fiberglass bathtub from a local supplier and add the pump and piping to the tanks to create his own jacuzzis. The supplier has the ability to deliver as many jacuzzisas needed. The owner installs the same type of pump in both jacuzzis. It will only have 200 pumps available during its next production cycle.
The main difference between the two models is the amount of pipe and labor required.
• Each Formentera model requires 9 hours of work and 3,676 meters of pipe.
• Each Blaumar model requires 6 hours of work and 4.8768 meters of pipe.
In the next production cycle, the owner will have 1520 hours of production work and 877,824 meters of tube available. For each Formentera model that is sold, it has a profit of 350 euros, and 300 in the case of Spa Blaumar.
The company is sure that it will sell everything it produces. In addition, if the company produces more than 75 Formentera models, it will obtain quantity discounts that would increase profits to 375 euros per unit in excess of 75.
