Question -

For production of Dodecylbenzene sulfonates (main raw material for production of detergent), the detergent plant needs 2000 metric ton per day of hydrocarbons (mixture is acceptable) with boiling point between 400 to 430°F. Straight run kerosene (SRK) has maximum amount of a fraction that is similar to Dodecylbenzene (400 to 430°F). Below curve represents, the ATM 86 for SRK. If straight run kerosene is used to produce a fraction with boiling point between 400 to 430°F how many metric tons of SRK is needed to produce 2000 metric ton per day of hydrocarbons similar to Dodecylbenzene? (density of fraction between 400 to 430°F is 0.79 Mton/m3).
