Question - Under the fair labor standards (FLSA)Any employee who works more than 40 hours per week must be paid no less than 1.5 times his regular pay for hours over 40 (the overtime rate). There are exceptions to this rule however if Billy works for four shifts one week, each of them 10 hours long, does the employer have to pay the overtime rate for the two hours beyond a regular eight hour shift each time? What if Billy works seven of the 10 hour shifts the next week? How many hours would be subject to the overtime rate? What if Billy is the stores manager, would that change the amount of overtime that Billy was paid? Explain.
