PM Computer Services has received an order for 120 custom configured personal computers for a local business. Paulette and Maureen have so many orders that they can no longer perform the work themselves, and they must hire extra labor to assemble the units for this new order. They have hired eight students from the university to work part-time, 20 hours per week, to assemble the computers. Paulette and Maureen assembled a prototype unit and it required 32 hours of direct labor; from experience they know their computer assembly operation has an 88% learning curve.
