The Saturn V rocket launched NASA astronauts to the moon. The rocket launched with an initial mass of 3 million kg, and lost mass to propellant at a rate of 15,000 kg/s. The exhaust velocity was 2500 m/s. Calculate the mass after 2 minutes. With that mass, at that time, what was the acceleration? How many g's did the astronauts feel? At 2 minutes, the engines were stopped, and the first stage fuel tank dropped away, causing the rocket to lose 0.1 million kg of mass. The second-stage engines were then ignited, with the same parameters as before. What is the new acceleration?
