Your company has a 500,000 square foot warehouse. They developed the warehouse using a 9% allowance for aisles. They store their products in boxes measuring 24” x 24” x 12”. The boxes are placed on pallets which measure 72” x 48” x 6”.

(a) If the boxes are stacked 5-high on the pallets, and the pallets with boxes are stacked 3-high, then how many boxes can be stored in the warehouse?

(b) The company has decided to store the unboxed products in storage containers, along with packing materials. The unpackaged products measure 18” x 12” x 4”. They are going to be placed in storage containers measuring 72” x 48” x 24”. Each unpackaged product requires 2” of packing material along the width and length, and 1” along the direction of the height. How many products can be stored in each container?
