1. Go to Global Conflict Tracker
2. Looking at the map, what generalizations can you make about where more/less conflicts are occurring?
3. Click on the funnel image on the top left of the screen to search by category.
- How many are designated as Critical? List them.
- How many are Significant? List them.
- How many are Limited? List them.
4. Using the same funnel image, click Conflict type.
- How many Civil Wars are listed? List them.
- How many Criminal Violence conflicts are listed? List them.
- How many Interstate conflicts are listed? List them.
- How many Political Instability conflicts are listed? List them.
- How many Sectarian conflicts are listed? List them.
- How many Territorial disputes are listed? List them.
- How many acts of transnational terrorism are listed? List them.
- What types of conflicts are most prevalent?
5. Under Status of Conflict, how many are worsening? How many are unchanging? How many are improving?
6. Looking through all of the answers above, what generalizations can you infer from this information? What types of conflicts are most prevalent? Is the world getting safer or not? Are there certain regions more prone to conflict? etc.
7. Click on the Conflict in Ukraine (critical and worsening). Then click the arrow in the blue bar which leads you to more information specific to this conflict.
