Notice that the coding region spans nucleotides 2738-3598 of the plasmid and is thus 861 nucleotides long. Each codon is 3 nucleotides long, so the coding region should contain 287 codons (861/3 = 287).

b) Does this agree with the number of amino acids above? If not can you explain this discrepancy?
