1. We wish to construct a pipepline from point P to point Q in the diagram below. We must select the points A and B for the pipeline. Construction costs for the pipeline from P to A are $15 per mile, from A to B are $28 per mile.

a) Select points A and B so the construction costs are a minimum.

b) What is the minimum cost?

c) How long is the pipeline of minimum costs? Compare with the distance from P to Q?
