A baseball batter sets up in the batting box and holds his bat still over the plate for a moment. The batter holds the 0.91 kg bat in a horizontal position with only one hand. The hand is 10 cm from the knob end of the bat. The bat is 89 cm long, and its center of gravity is 60 cm from the knob end of the bat.

a. How large is the vertical force exerted by the batter's hand on the bat?
