Assignment:

Since a big part of the importance of government is applying it to our everyday lives, let's consider the current situation with COVID-19 or the coronavirus. Outlinethree (3) policy recommendations for either your local, tribal, or state or federal government. In other words, if you are in charge, what three things would you enact as policy to try and (1) prevent the spread of the virus, (2) keep calm among citizens, and (3) ensure the well-being of the economy. Most of all when considering this, how do you make sure that your policies don't conflict with the Constitution, civil liberties and or rights, and conflicts of federalist (federalism) structures. For each policy you mention, you MUST explain one of the following:

  1. How the policy it is constitutional
  2. or how it does it still respect civil liberties or rights
  3. or if it does violate civil liberty or right, why it is justifiable under "public emergency, need" concept
  4. or how it works within the structure of federalism

You only have to clarify how it works for ONE of the above for each policy recommendation.

In short, brief essay on how you would address each of the key areas. Consider what happens if the economy goes down and people are out of work for a while? Think about how items like toilet paper, rice, eggs, and milk have been hoarded by people and how that affects everyone. What can you, as the leader, whether that be the chairperson, governor, or president do in your role to ensure that society continues to function adequately?
