Before entering the nursing program at Rasmussen, you had to show proof of all vaccinations and that they were current. Parents of children that attend public school are required to show proof that the children received certain vaccinations at specific times. A few people refuse vaccinations due to religious beliefs or fear of the side effects of the vaccines. Choose a common vaccine and discuss the following:

  • How is the vaccine administered?
  • Does the vaccine need to be repeated? If so, how often?
  • What are the side effects of the vaccine?
  • What are the risks of developing the disease if patients refuse the vaccine?
