BACKGROUND: 

This is a reflective paper covering any topic from the course that you found interesting. However, it must relate directly to Labour Economics. For example, you may wish to focus on compensation, digital disruption, government involvement in labour markets, education and the labour market etc. You may write this by yourself or with one other person. 

YOUR MISSION IF YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT: 

The most important job is to define a topic of interest and then everything follows from there. I want you to choose a topic that interests you.  

This paper could have the following headings depending on the topic chosen:

  1. Introduction. (APA no longer requires an abstract)

Introduce your topic. What is your topic? What are you going to cover in this paper? 

  1. Why is this of interest to you? Do you have any direct experience with the topic you have chosen? Give specific examples from labour economics.
  2. How is this important to companies and customers? List and explain three (3) reasons why this is an important area.
  3. Public (Government) Policy: Are there any public policy choices that can help people given the topic you have chosen?
  4. Reflection on Labour Economics: How can you as a Human Resources professional adapt to labour market realities in the 21st century?
  5. Conclusion. Highlight what have you covered in this paper.
  6. Reference page. Go to at least one (1) source of information from four (4) of the six (6) categories of resources I gave you to support your view. [Your optional text is one category]. Make sure this is credited on your reference page. Generally, you should have at least five (5) references.
