Mark a 54-year-old male with a status post-bilateral lung transplant eight months ago was admitted into the progressive care unit due to dizziness, weakness, and hypotension. The patient was taking Tacrolimus and azathioprine immunosuppressant medications daily to prevent rejection of the new lung she received eight months ago. His wife Mary was standing outside his room when she noticed that the patient's room was in between two isolation rooms with a sign posted as droplet isolation. She also noticed that the nurses and other staff who went in those rooms were wearing gown, gloves, bonnet, mask different from the regular mask that she was wearing, and an eye shield. She had a strong suspicion that the neighboring patients were infected with Covid-19 and became increasingly concerned for her husband's health who was immunocompromised. She immediately spoke with the primary nurse who told her that "there is nothing to worry about because our staff follows a strict isolation policy when caring for patients". Mary became upset at the primary nurse and escalated her concern to the charge nurse to ensure her husband's safety.
