Assignment: EI involves both cognitive and non-cognitive abilities, cognitive abilities deal with the thinking and reasoning aspects while non-cognitive abilities deal with the motivation, integrity and interpersonal skills one may possess. According to Baack, a person with greater interpersonal interaction contains higher levels of EI.

I am normally a hot-headed person when it comes to confrontation/conflict, however at the workplace I am as cool as a cucumber. I have had to practice techniques to not let my temper get the best of me. An example of how I use EQ is when I am overly stressed in a given work situation, I calmly walk away and take a few deep breaths, recuperate my train of thought and collect my emotions (or put them in check) then return to face the issue at hand.
