This is a student discussion post can you tell me how I can reply to it Pros of their CSR Policy:

The company I chose is Apple. Apple has 512 stores across 25 different countries and is one of the most successful businesses in the world. Apple is worth more than $2 trillion and has a familiar logo that anyone would recognize. They are the world leading innovator in technology.

  • Apple practices Green Business, which means they are one of the first global companies to achieve a net zero carbon impact for corporate emissions. By taking bad chemicals out, they are helping the atmosphere and trying to improve climate changes for the planet.
  • Apple has improved their environmental efforts by improving the durability of their products with programs to help refurbish and reuse apple products. 40% of the MacBook air line were made from recycled sources.
  • Apple offers recycling programs in 99% of the countries it operates in.
  • Recently in 2021, Apple also announced a new $100 million Racial Equity and Justice program. This program will address racism faced by people of color by promoting educational support including;
  • a developer academy to support tech education in Detroit MI.
  • a $25 million learning and innovation center to support black colleges and universities.
  • capital funding for minority entrepreneurs

Cons:

  • Apple has been accused of contracting with factories guilty of violating Chinese labor laws and other factories with illegal discharges of toxic waste.
  • Apple was targeted and accused of manipulation of batteries to the iPhone 6 product line forcing customers to buy updated phones.
  • In 2019, Apple scored poorly on "commitments and policies" based on international human rights standards.

Apple has seemed to make significant turns arounds in 2021 by implementing new programs and doing the best they can to help the environment. They have improved their ethical standards and work along their mission statement "to bring the best personal computing products and support to students, educators, designers, scientists, engineers, businesspersons, and consumers in over 140 countries around the world."
