By now, you may have noticed there are a plethora of approaches to intervention including those involving technology. Here, you have the opportunity to explore high- and low-tech interventions and consider their impact on learning. For this assignment, you will assume a hypothetical professional role in which your research of high- and low-tech interventions will be presented to professionals you work with for the purpose of potential integration.
Prepare: • Review the list of high-technology- and low-technology-based interventions found in this week's Weekly Lesson. Select one of each type of intervention that appears to be a promising tool to differentiate instruction and improve learning.
• Revisit the Week 3 Lesson for information regarding differentiation.
Create a professional presentation including each of the required components below. You may use PowerPoint or choose from the list of digital presentation software options is included in the Recommended Resources list and the Weekly Lesson for this week.
Write: Your high- and low- technology intervention evaluation presentation should include the following components:
1. Definition: Describe how high- tech interventions differ from low-tech interventions
2. High-tech Intervention:
• Name and describe the intervention.
• Differentiation: Provide an explanation of how the intervention supports individualized learning and differentiated instruction.
• Intended outcome: How will it improve learning?
• Challenges: Explain any potential gaps or challenges associated with the intervention.
• Example: Describe a real-world example of how it might be utilized with the professionals you work with.
3. Low-tech Intervention:
• Name and describe the intervention.
• Differentiation: Provide an explanation of how the intervention supports individualized learning and differentiated instruction.
• Intended outcome: How will it improve learning?
• Challenges: Explain any potential gaps or challenges associated with the intervention.
• Example: Describe a real-world example of how it might be utilized with the professionals you work with.
Written Communication Expectations
• Page Requirement: 8-12 slides including the title and references slide.
• Syntax and Mechanics: Display meticulous comprehension and organization of syntax and mechanics, such as spelling and grammar.
• Source Requirement: Reference sources utilized to provide information to support ideas following APA formatting requirements. Support your ideas with at least two other sources in addition to the textbook. All sources on the APA References List need to be used and follow the In-text Citation Guide within the body of the assignment. The additional sources may be found in the Weekly Lesson.
Review and Submit the Assignment
1. Archive your assignment in your ePortfolio by uploading to your Folio account. Once assignments are uploaded to your ePortfolio, they are considered artifacts and will be referenced as such.
2. Once in your Folio account, select "Add Work." Follow the step-by-step instructions.
3. Once uploaded, add a title (e.g., Technology Evaluation Presentation) and a one- to two-sentence description.
• Select "Education" as the category and give it the same title as the previous step.
• Your artifact should now be viewable in your ePortfolio.
