If already have 'YouTubers' that you follow, you're going to pick one of them for this assignment.
If you don't watch any YouTubers in particular or with any consistency, then you're going to find one that you really like, subscribe to their channel and watch a few of their videos for this assignment.
You're going to ask yourself these questions and organize your responses, experiences, and thoughts into an essay.
Who did you pick as your YouTuber? What type of YouTuber are they (ie lifestyle, gamer, cooking, DIY, etc) and give a brief description of the type of content they post in their videos. Why do you follow/subscribe to this YouTuber?
How has this YouTuber and their content impacted you? In what ways is it significant to your life (perhaps for your personal habits, mental health and wellbeing, knowledge building, comfort & support, or self-care, etc)? You also want to incorporate these two course theme questions: What happens when I intersect and overlap with the Digital World - Video Blogging - in this way? Have I taken any actions or made any changes in my life from watching this YouTuber? How has the digital technology of YouTube (and YouTubers) positively and/or negatively shaped your identity, relationships, or lifestyles?
Your response needs to include an introduction, a discussion section/body, and a conclusion. It must not be in short answer response style. Again, my recommendation is to respond to the questions in your notes, and then organize your content into an essay that 'does something' and not just answers the questions in Q & A style.
For example, your introduction will likely include the who/what YouTuber and why chosen, and then you'll give a sentence to set up your theme/discussion - what's the key premise of the essay - why are you talking about this YouTuber? This gives the essay direction.
Your discussion section will likely be some of the more 'robust' and 'deeper' questions, like impact on your life, significance or importance, how it has shaped your identity, relationships, or lifestyle (or has the potential to, if this is a new YouTuber for you) . Make sure your paragraphs flow together and are connected to the main theme in your introduction, otherwise it reads choppy/short answer. Usually the body/discussion is three paragraphs.
Your conclusion needs to recap key theme noted in the intro, the key things you discussed and learned, a bigger picture 'take-away' - the 'so-what?' of it all.
You need to provide a link to the YouTuber's channel somewhere in your post. Either as an active URL in the introduction, or have the link at the end of the essay. Your peers and graders must be able to go and view the YouTube channel and YouTuber.
