A clinical supervisor oversees a team of employees of a specific clinical operation, whereas a program manager has a more active role in directing operations and creating objectives for employees within a specific clinical program. Within the context of an addiction treatment environment, the clinical supervisor would be concerned with the day-to-day treatment of patients seeking addiction help whereas the program manager would ensure the addition program was meeting its monthly goals, staying up to date on the latest guidelines, and improving their best practices.
