Research & Writing Task: Based on what you've studied the many forms of online news media, write an essay on The Future of Media. What will media leek like 20 years from now? Among the approaches you might take are:

- Your vision of how current news media issues might pan out in the future (government secrets, censorship, corporate control, news media business models, metrics, digital divide, net neutrality, robotics etc.)
The following questions may help you get started on your essay.

- What did the thinkers of the 1950s or 1960s imagine 2016 media would be like?
- Did they miss by a mile or were they generally correct about the way media has developed?
- What does your knowledge of past and current media tell you about Tikely future for media?
- What will the internet look like In 2036?
- What media will die? What media will survive? And what media will likely become dominant?
- Are there current "bleeding edge" technologic that might be major influence on the future of media'?
- What might be some of the game - changer and new technologies we have not yet discovered?
- Will technology set us free or will it enslave us? The instructor will grunt considerable leeway for imagination and original thoughts here. But please do not treat this assignment as a joke or you will severely damage your grade.
This assignment requires that you go beyond simply answering the questions above. You may want to do some research to see what others are saying about possible media future.
