Problem

This study is to identify a current or recent issue that has been publicised in the media (either in Australia or elsewhere). We would require to examine this issue using relevant critical social work theory to explore and critically analyse the issue.

For the purpose of this task, it's necessary to identify a recent or ongoing problem that has been covered in the news, either in Australia or somewhere else. Use applicable critical social work theory to look into and think critically about this problem.

A. Give a brief explanation of the problem and explain why this particular field of study was chosen.

B. Identify and define (with references) at least one critical social work theory that can be applied to this issue. Reference for the issue can be taken from the following topics: Gender or power oppression, Emancipatory theories and practice, Human rights and social practice, phenomenology embodiment, discourse, power and identity.
