Chupacabras are mammals with hair length that varies from no hair to very long. It is known that two genes affect the length of a chupacabra's hair and that the genes have additive effects. A hairless organism has the genotype G1G1H1H1 and a very long haired organism has the genotype G2G2H2H2.

a) What appears to be the effect of type 1 alleles (denoted G1 and H1) and type 2 alleles (G2 and H2) on hair length?

b) What would you expect the genotype and phenotype to be of the F1 progeny from a cross between a hairless chupacabra and a very long haired chupacabra?

c) How many different lengths of hair are possible assuming that these are the only genes that affect the length of hair, that the genes contribute equally to hair length, and that the environment has no effect on the phenotype?
