Question: As a Senior FMA with Health Canada. Over the past few years, staffing levels have increased dramatically due to the Covid response while the recent Budget announced an upcoming 3% reduction to operating budgets. In addition, all temporary Covid funding that HC had received has now sunset.

As of April 1, your client branch of 600 FTEs has more than 80 unfunded positions, which is beyond the constraints of the current budget. Your client ADM has asked you to put together a deck outlining at least three possible strategies to address the issue, including how funding may be accessed from the Centre.
