Problem

The concept of an internal working model was a thread that ran through all of our interest in attachment. It was said that this concept is interpretive framework, subjective, more or less preconscious, and resistant to change. I also compared the presumed working models of babies and young adults who are insecure-avoidant versus insecure-anxious.

1. To illustrate your ability to describe an internal working model, accurately elaborate on the four properties of internal working models given above (interpretive framework, subjective, more or less pre-conscious, and resistant to change) in a sentence or two.

2. Next demonstrate your understanding and ability to apply this understanding by creating two fictional young adults, one insecure-avoidant and one insecure-anxious, who both faced the same following situation: After going on several initial dates with the same person over two weeks, they invited that person to a friend's upcoming Halloween party. The other person accepted and seemed excited. However, the day before the party, over dinner at Buffalo Phil's and discussion over what costume to wear, that person mentions casually that an opposite-sex "friend" from home is coming that weekend and he/she invited that person along as well. The two want to repeat something they did last Halloween: they dressed up as the characters of Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Dr. Suess's Cat in the Hat.

Compare and contrast how your fictional insecure-avoidant and insecure-anxious young adults might think, respond emotionally, and react behaviorally according to theory. Your description should demonstrate that you understand the things these two profiles have in common and the things that are unique to each.
