Bob is traveling at 130 feet/sec when he sees Sam 1000 feet ahead of him traveling at 100 feet/sec, both of them heading toward the finish line 2850 feet ahead of Bob. At that moment, Bob begins accelerates at 8 feet/sec^2. Six seconds later Sam checks his mirrors and sees Bob.
