A 100 W point source radiates yellowish-green light of wavelength 555 nm uniformly in all directions. This is the wavelength at which the human eye has peak sensitivity, a dark adapted eye capable of detecting as few as 10 photons per second. Assuming that the pupil of the dark adapted eye has a diameter of 7 mm, how far from the source could the light be detected?
