The electrons are accelerated until they have kinetic energy 25 keV (a kilo-electron-volt (1 keV) is the energy needed to accelerate a single electron, with charge -e, across a potential difference of -1 kiloVolts). What magnetic field is required to produce a deflection of 3.3 cm if the magnetic field region is 8.0 cm long? If there is a 22 cm gap between the end of the magnetic field region and the end of the tube, how far from the center of the screen does the beam strike?
