Team Current Event Analysis

In the business world today, strategic leadership is often a group effort. In creating the strategic plan, the strategic leadership team must stay up to date on current events affecting their industry and competitors; doing so could provide the organization an edge over the competition.

Sign up for a group by clicking the "Groups" tool in the left purple sidebar. Find out about your group and contact group members to coordinate work. Use the group discussion and file exchange tools to work together on your paper. Members may want to exchange cell phone numbers to facilitate communication.

Each group will select a current event occurring in the business world today. Each member will research the event and share the results with the group. The group will complete a written analytical paper based on the research. The paper should pertain to some aspect of business management.

For an example of a current business event, consider the Facebook initial public offering (IPO). Each team member would find at least one current article regarding the IPO and share it with the group. The group will then write an analysis of the current event.

The analysis should include, but is not limited to:

1. A summary of events

2. An analysis of the event

3. How the event effects the strategic direction of the organization

4. Recommendations

5. References

Write the paper in 4-5 pages (excluding title page, abstract, and references) in a Word document. Follow APA standards and cite all sources.
