Conservation of Energy
In this lab there are two parts, both of which will measure how energy is conserved in a system.
Part I will involve measuring the velocity and position of a cart on an inclined track in its path up and back down a dynamics track. These measurements are taken so that potential and kinetic energies and therefore total energy, may be calculated.
For Part II, you will track the motion of a parachute falling and observe the effect of air resistance and its relationship to the terminal velocity of the parachute.
A 70.0 kilogram man throws a 0.0420 kilogram snowball forward with a ground speed of 34.0 m/s. Determine the velocities of the two people after the snowball is exchanged
What is the density of Neon gas at standard temperature and pressure? The atomic mass of Neon is 20.18 atomic mass unit
Two students on roller skates stand face-to-face, then push each other away. One student has a mass of 99 kg and the second student 68 kg. Find the ratio of the magnitude of the first student's velocity to the magnitude of the second student's veloc..
A glass light pipe in air will totally internally reflect a light ray if its angle of incidence is at least 39. What is the minimum angle for total internal reflection if the pipe is in water
A woman stands at the edge of a carousel that is rotating without friction at 0.80 rad/s. The carousel has a radius of 2.0m and a moment of inertia of 600 kg m2. What is now the angular speed of the carousel
Two conducting rails 31.5 cm apart rest on a 4.97° ramp. They are joined at the bottom by a 0.750 ohm resistor, What is the terminal (steady) velocity of the bar as it slides frictionlessly down the rails

One afternoon, a couple walks three-fourths of the way around a circular lake, the radius of which is 1.48 km. What is the magnitude of the couple's displacement
The lob in tennis is an effective tactic when your opponent is near the net. It consists of lofting the ball over his head, forcing him to move quickly away from the net (see the drawing). Suppose that you lob the ball with an initial speed of 17...
a projectile is fired with a velocity of 980 ms at an angle of 30 degrees above the horizontal from the top of a hill
a block of mass m5.0kg is pulled along a rough horizontal surface by a rope as sketched. the tension in the rope is 40n
In a particle accelerator, a proton reaches an acceleration of 9.0 × 1013 m/s2. The mass of a proton is 1.7 × 10 -27 kg. What is the force on the proton?
