Vitamin A as a Teratogen: A Research Essay Vitamin A is a crucial nutrient important to vision, growth, cell division, reproduction and immunity. According to WebMD (nd), Vitamin A is found in many foods, such as spinach, dairy products and liver. Other sources are foods rich in beta-carotene, such as green leafy vegetables, carrots and cantaloupe. Your body converts beta-carotene into Vitamin A. Vitamin A is also a common ingredient in products meant to improve skin health. Anti-aging/wrinkle creams and acne medications. It is used to treat psoriasis and hyperpigmentation due to exposure to sunlight (Whelan and Santos-Longhurst, 2022). Vitamin A has also recently been labeled a teratogen. Explain on whether Vitamin A is a teratogen.
