Case Study: The Thomas theorem states that people's behavior can be determined by their subjective construction of reality rather than by objective reality. In other words the beliefs and behaviors of a group of people can lead to a self-fulfilling prophecy, where even a false idea can become true if it is acted upon. On the other hand, social constructs do not have inherent meaning. The only meaning they have is the meaning given to them by people. For example, the idea that pink is for girls and blue is for boys is an example of a social construct related to gender and the color of items.

Question: How does the Thomas theorem apply to a reality that is socially constructed?
