Olivia is a coworker in the medical practice you are employed. When she was first hired you really liked her, however, you are growing tired of the many stories she constantly tells everyone about all of the personal problems she is having.

Her life always seems to be filled with turmoil and drama and she feels the need to share every detail with you. You now find yourself trying to avoid her as much as possible, although this is challenging since it is a small practice.

You realize that you are beginning to resent working with Olivia and it is affecting your positive attitude and job satisfaction. Additionally, you have observed that Olivia's stories have been overheard by patients and you worry about the professional impression this is giving for her, your providers and the practice in general.

Finally, you realize that you can no longer continue this way and need to resolve this situation. Describe how you will address this issue with Olivia. Review the information you have learned regarding professionalism and share some positive strategies you could employ to resolve the issue.
