Question: How does the myth "Prometheus" connects to a specific region, tradition, or belief system?
Case Study: Find the evidence from the picture I've attached (Page 100-112) and write one paragraph beginning with "Prometheus connects to a specific region, tradition, or belief system (choose one)" Then follow a MAP paragraph (1.topic sentence 2.narrow focus 3.evidence (from the book) 4.analysis 5.conclusion)
For example: The myth of Arion and the Dolphin is connected to a specific tradition. In the past, Greeks gave a lot of value and advantage to media or objects that provided entertainment. According to the text, "The Greeks, like all great civilizations, set a great price on music -placing it so high in the arts that it took its name from all nine of the daughters of Memory."(page288) This chapter illustrates the influence of music related to gods and royalty. Arion was doing his duties as a musician and poet who played his lyre in the palace when he came to Corinth to meet with King Periander. He became admired and well-known. Arion giant a lot of wealth and money due to his musical talent, as the first sentence mentioned, Greeks placed a very high value on music, which is why Arion can obtain that lot of money if contrast to what musicians do now.
Example 2: The myth 'Persephone and the chariot' connects to the belief in ancient Greek. It is linked with the idea of seasonal cycles in the world created by God. As mentioned on page129, "For six months Persephone was no prisoner in Hades but the contented Queen of the Underworld...For the other six months, she reverted to the laughing Kore of fertility, flowers, fruit, and frolic. The world had found a new rhythm". This scene depicts how abundant and fertile the Earth was for six months. However, during Persephone's other six months in the underworld, the Earth will experience drought and a cold season. Finally, we have the belief that seasons occur because of God.
