This assessment task requires you to describe the key characteristics of learning according to Behaviourism, cognitive learning theory, and constructivism, and to provide an authentic example of each.

You are also to provide an authentic example of each theory in practice.

Gathering authentic examples can be done via the following:

Observations when helping out/volunteering in a classroom.

Personal observations of family members - children, nephews, nieces, neighbors' children etc.

Be creative with finding examples - Readings from reputable research.

For each learning theory, you are to write a 400-word explanation of the key ideas about learning inherent within that theory. In other words, you are to address the question: how does this theory define learning? You are also to provide an authentic example of each theory in practice. It would be best if the examples come from your own observation or experience.

1. Explanation of each of the learning theories.

2. Inclusion of examples.

3. Your ability to communicate your understanding in writing.

4. Evidence of wide reading.
