Question 1. Salaam Bombay! focuses on the lives of people who are struggling to get by, many of them children, including the main character, Krishna (a.k.a. Chaipau). One of the ways realist films often emphasize the economic hardships of the main characters is to detail how little money they have or how hard they have to work to save some money. For example, in The World, when the character Little Sister dies, we see his final will and testimony which details the exact (small, but for him significant) amount of money he owes to various people.
