Be prepared to respond in at least 300 words using 2 assigned sources PER response.

1. What are the limits of freedom of speech, specifically when we consider the recent conversations. Should "all" perspectives be included? What are your rights as a citizen? For example: Can you say whatever you want on social media and not be fired from your job? Do you have the "right" to have a Facebook account and not be moderated?

2. The issue of slavery is something that infringes on the experience and practice of democracy. How does slavery challenge notions of democratic practice? Can you be free if someone in society is enslaved? What are the limits when we talk about slavery? For example, contemporary thinkers will argue that societies should be responsible for basic needs, otherwise we cannot live as fully free citizens (water, shelter, healthcare, etc). Many countries consider internet to be a basic need and offer it free, anywhere in the country, for citizens. Is this something that should be expected in a democratic society?
