Consider a square charged sheet centered on the x-y plane, with corners at (a,a,0), (-a,a,0), (-a,-a,0) and (a,-a,0). A charge Q is evenly distributed on the sheet. You are to devise a MATLAB program which will allow you to find the electric field intensity vector E at any point in space. This will require that you discretize the sheet into a number of differential charge elements.

Given: a = 4.00 m, Q = 64.0 nC

Discretization - How does the size of the differential charge elements influence your results? Find E at the point (0, a/2, a), for this study. Devise a good way to represent your data to demonstrate the influence of discretization. Comment on your results. Apply adequate discretization to the remainder of this project.

On a single graph, plot Ex, Ey and Ez versus y over the range -2a < y < +2a with x = 0 and z = a. Choose a small enough step size to generate smooth plots. Comment on your results.

Proximity - How close must the test point on the z-axis be such that the finite sheet (with charge density rs) appears approximately infinite in extent? Assume "close enough" when the field is 99% that from an infinite extent sheet. Devise a good way to represent your data to demonstrate this proximity effect.
