How does HLA relate to HMC in immune physiology. Our textbook states that

"MHC molecules are important in the recognition of the body's 'self' antigens from foreign 'nonself' antigens.' MHC is another term for HLA.

This is not the answer given by tutor Brina17 or the others.

From Brina17:(The HLA complex is a gene complex that encodes the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) proteins

HLA genes are polymorphic (many different alleles) which allows them to fine-tune the adaptive immune system. HLAs corresponding to MHC class 1 present peptides from inside the cell and HLAs corresponding to MHC class 2 present antigens from outside of the cell to T-lymphocytes. HLAs corresponding to MHC class 3 encode components of the complement system.)

Can you help me to understand the discrepancy?
