Question: How could you get from Welch, WV to college?

Your parents can no longer afford to house and feed you. You have to move out! Surviving is difficult enough, but you need to MOVE TO COLLEGE to improve your economic status and begin working in a better career. How do you do that?

You have a high school diploma from Mount View High School and a cheap car (paid for) with auto insurance that costs $130 each month. You take your clothes, shoes, and personal items that can fit inside your vehicle. You have $2,500 in your savings. Beyond that, you're on your own. Your mission is this: Don't sink; learn how to swim!

Decide if you want a roommate from this class. You each will need to complete your own budgets.
Draw one of the Universities and job opportunities available.*
Determine travel costs.

Research:

Find a place to live near your new school and job. This must be a recently listed apartment or house.
Conduct research regarding monthly bills such as heat/electricity, phone, gas, and food in that location.
Complete record of monthly budget on the Project Worksheet handout.
Research the expense of attending this college (be sure to include costs of housing, and books)
